The minerals that are present in hard water can shorten the life of your RV’s water heater as they can cause scale build up and rust. Many plumbing fittings can be quite small and it does not take much to clog ice maker lines and auxiliary water faucets located at the kitchen sink.  Just a small amount of calcium build up on an RV water pump diaphragm with cause it to loose performance and eventually stop working. These minerals have the same destructive effect on faucets, showheads, and even holding tanks can become coated over time by hard water.
